When you are logged in and click into a particular message board, there should be a green "New Thread" button on the top, left above the list of messages. The background color is working against us, so the button is a little hard to see. I'm working on a new design that will fix that.

You can subscribe to be notified of posts in a particular thread, but not the whole board. I think the rationale is that on a very busy board, that would produce a lot of e-mail. You are automatically subscribed to any thread that you post in so that you will be notified of replies.

Do you use RSS? There is a way to get a notification of any news posts on any board. Click the little orange square to the bottom right of the message board pages. This is the link to the RSS feed. You can paste the URL into an RSS reader or Firefox, and you'll see a little notification of any new messages. This is a little more passive and not as intrusive as e-mail. It's a new feature of our upgraded message boards. I need to write up a little How-to to let folks know how it works.
